Tiny House Family

Tiny House Family

This small footprint home, nestled in the bush on Waiheke Island, was the vision of Kate and Willem Van den Bergh of @tinyhousefamilynz who together with their young family, lived in a tiny house on site whilst they planned and saved to build their dream family home. The 95sqm home was designed by Willem, who is an architectural designer, with the intention of creating a home with sustainable design principles. Plumbline partnered with the couple to create the tiny bathroom in this small-scale home and with some clever design ideas, were able to fit so much into a small space, even a bath. The bathroom takes inspiration from the surrounding native NZ bush with its shades of green, slate and timber. The oak Stanza vanity pops against the slate tile wall and the Swiss stainless steel tapware with its durable quality will stand the test of time. The bath is perfectly positioned below a large window, overlooking the bush and the slat windows let in the sounds of birdsong from the trees, making the room feel truly one with nature.
