Seaside Sanctuary

Seaside Sanctuary

This stunning seaside sanctuary in Mount Maunganui was a project designed by Architect Mark Carnachan and built by Calley Homes which involved a semi-detached townhouse separated from the adjoining property and then rebuilt.

The home has large architectural exterior joinery from floor to ceiling. Feature external cedar screens add privacy, and also provide fall protection as the large interior sliding doors open to the ocean. With a neutral palette and natural elements such as marble, stone, timber and wool this home feels relaxed and restful. The Kitchen's central island is made from Matarazzo leathered finished marble and the kitchen cabinetry is timber in finish.

Interior Designer, Chelsey Mathieson, won the 2020 NKBA Excellence in Design Supreme Kitchen Design Award for this stand-out project. The kitchen was described by the NKBA judges as “a clever, aesthetically beautiful and complex kitchen” with its “restricted pallet, coastal vernacular and structed elegance.”

The bathroom received the Bay of Plenty Chapter Bathroom Recognition award. We are honoured to have Plumbline products feature in this award-winning bathroom. Calley Homes also received numerous awards for this house at the 2020 Master Builders House of the Year awards.
